You seem to have traveled light years in a blink! This indicates to me that you are putting huge thought into who you are and what you are doing. Your heart is so generous, and it has collided with the mighty dollar, which can take down even the most impenetrable of vessels. But please, don't let your heart become calloused and hard. The most beauiful and pure comes from the most vulnerable and willing. Your musings remind me that I need to be who I am, and remember to let others be who they are too. I must expand my own protective and insulating cocoon to envelop the lives of others, and to accept them, and to even go so far as to reach out and dissolve my own protective shell and be vulnerable and accepting and know that the sharp barbs that fly at me are merely the auto-reaction of those who haven't discovered that beauty of being themselves yet, and they are just trying to keep people away from their vulnerable selves. But when they (and I) can truly discover the eternal light that comes with loving purely, and accepting of the arrows of other's hurtful self-protection, will we come to understand that nothing can hurt us when we are loving with our whole vulnerable selves. When we totally give up all attempts at self-protection, we can cross into an existance of vulnerable strength, where the hurtful barbs can't hurt us, but only make us stronger.
I am so enoying the infusion of goodness I read in your occasional posts! Thank you for sharing. It keeps me heading in the proper direction.
Oh friend, how lovely it is that our paths did cross. And will again. You are my kind of human and have SUCH wisdom to impart. I love this so much. Especially as a double cancerian (protective hard-shelled switch-backy water and earth creature).
I believe I am a water creature. I am drawn to water. I energize being near water. I find peace near water. I LOVE floating in the water of our lake (in the summer!!), and listening to the birds, watching the dragonflies dart and float, and the sounds of the earth as the sun slowy sets over the trees. I feel so connected to the beginning and the end in those moments. There is eternity in those moments! There is peace and golden light. I can only stay there an instant though, before I am overcome with my own mortaliy, my own impurity, and feel compelled to return myself back to this reality of living life in my physical body, but knowing that this awesome peace and flowing energy can be mine again when I need it.
But it seems that I am trying to have a personal dialogue with you rather than supporting your efforts in sharing joy and those 'other complicated feelings'. I find it irresistable to share commonalities and be able to speak to someone who communicates so well. I felt your energy when we met, and continue to feel it. You are strong, and you will find your way through all this, just as you are doing even now!!
I LOVE IT SO MUCH! You inspire and delight me with the most rich and beautiful care package. If I knew how to crochet, I would make one for everyone who asked. Just beautiful friend.
Rachel, i have a question. (and also, nice appearance in the Strib today!) IMHO, the 50’s Grill pies are very good, maybe because they’re so like the pies my mom made. yet, they never seem to get any shoutouts. have you been there? i love the raspberry, the key lime... etc etc. love their crusts. when i can’t get your pie, it’s a great alternative. any experiences there for you?
